Testimonials

We got our "little fat man" from Dana and Landon in March of this year. I had never gotten a puppy from a breeder before, but Dana and Landon were amazing! Landon was always available to answer my questions by phone or by email. Dana sent me pictures of Tango on a weekly basis and I felt as if I was truly able to watch my little man grow until the day we were able to bring him home. We drove out to the kennel with our other pug and were presented with a rolly poly happy 8 week old boy. We even got to meet Daisy and Freddy, Tango's parents. It's been 6 months since we brought Tango home but we feel as if he's been part of our family forever. He's happy, go lucky, and incredibly lovable. He adores every one and is now a hefty, 20lb ball of energy. Thank you, Dana and Landon, for all the hard work and care you put into raising and breeding quality, lovable pups. Dana and Landon really do give you a part of their family when you bring home one of their puppies. If I ever decide to get another dog in the future, you can bet the only place I'll go is to Dana and Landon.

Landon and Dana are absolutely wonderful breeders to know! Their facility is beautiful and very clean; their dogs are well taken care of. Our new Westie, MacKenzie, is from the May 3rd litter and couldn't be a better puppy! She came from a very loving home and is incredibly well-adjusted to her new surroundings. I would recommend Landon and Dana to anyone looking for a puppy or adult dog ready for adoption.

Well, we came back again! We brought home our first westie, Petunia, from the Richards in April. I guess we felt our lives weren't crazy enough with 3 children, and a new puppy, that we came back for another one. Lily (another westie) joined our family a couple of weeks ago. Watching the two of them play has become our favorite past time. We highly recommend Dana and Landon to anyone considering a new puppy. It was a fantastic experience both times! They obviously take great pride in their work. It shows in their pups and in their adult dogs. Our puppies are happy, healthy, cuddly, and crazy!! #3....who knows?? Thanks so much to the Richards! I have been meaning to write before now…….but life gets in the way. We picked up Tula “aka Lucy” March 1st, 2008. She is about the cutest, smartest, funniest puppy I have ever seen. We love her and I can say she loves us! We really appreciate all the hard work the Richards family put into the puppies and waiting parents. We highly recommend them and I want to come back for 5 more puppies just like Tula! Thanks Dana and Landon. ~ Joni Garner

It's been almost two weeks since we brought home our little Westie, Petunia. She has settled in to her new home as if she's lived here forever. She was sleeping through the night almost immediately, and is doing fabulous with her potty training. Her personality is so loving, cuddly, and playful. It's a joy to watch her romp around our yard with our 3 girls! Our experience with adopting from the Richards was great! They were always kind and never minded my relentless emails of questions. We are so thrilled with our experience, I have already contacted Dana to adopt a playmate for Petunia! My family would highly recommend the Richards to anyone looking for a new furry family member.

My Shih Tzu, Bubba, is 3 years old now - He is just a perfect dog with no problems of any kind. He is so smart and loving...an independent little boy with a huge personality. Dana and I email often, share pictures and stories She is personable and truly cares about the puppies/ dogs that she places. How lucky I am to have found her! (and Bubba!!!)

A lot of us leave our testimonials on our new pups right after we get them which is great but I also think leaving a testimonial down the road is helpful because brand new pups can often be fine and then have genetic problems down the road. To know you are dealing with a great breeder(such as the Richards) and healthy dogs you should also talk to someone that has owned a dog for a while from a breeder. So, that being said, that is why I am writing to say my husband and I have had our Westie, Belle, for three years now. Her birthday was 12/22/07 :)and things couldn't be better with her! She's as perfect as Westies come and is such a joy to have around every day. I love having a little buddy to hang out with me whether I'm working in the garden or going for a hike, swimming (yes she loves to swim) or being lazy and watching tv or reading a book with her on my lap. It really is important for dogs to have a caring environment from the moment they are born, they are so impressionable, just like children, and it has been obvious to me from the day we brought Belle home that she had a wonderful start. I also volunteer with my local Westie rescue group and have seen first hand what poor breeding and unkindness can do to these helpless pups. It's so nice to know there are people like the Richards out there making sure pups get the love and care they deserve before they go to good homes. Thanks again Dana, Landon and Sue for our wonderful Belle!

My name is Channing Wright. I am 12 years old and have one goldendoodle who is 1 year old. I told my parents that I really wanted a lap dog. They told me to research them, so I did and I found the Coton De Tulear. I researched about the dogs and found out tons of amazing things. I showed my parents and they said we will see if anybody in Colorado sells them. I did and I found Paw's and Claw's. Right away I told my parents and they said we were going to be going to Kansas, and on the way back we could go see them. I called them up and asked if we could come and see them. They said yes. So on our way back we went to see them. Right when we walked in we all almost fainted because of how clean and neat it was. And then we met Landon and Dana they were so nice we loved the place and them by now. Then we talked a bit and then they brought in the puppies and my whole family fell in love and wanted them all but we lowered it down to two. They were both sooooo cute but one was a boy and one was a girl. I really wanted a girl so I could put bows in her hair so we decided on her. Her name was Riley but we all liked the name Riley anyway so we kept that name. Now she is about 10 weeks old and we are so happy with our experience and can't thank the Richards enough. Thank you for our new family member, Riley. Channing Wright Aurora, Colorado

Now that our little girl's getting all grown up, we felt compelled to let you know again what a joy she is. Mishka, our 7 month old Coton, is so brave, so charismatic, and so outgoing -- she's a big dog, sized for our little apartment. Her easy-going personality makes her the perfect pup for our hectic, roll-with-the-punches schedule, but she always has a happy dance and enthusiatic greeting for us when we get home. She's even an angel on plane flights, staying calm under our seats and charming the airline staff with her winning smile. She's so beautiful she stops people in the street, and I'm always sure to tell them what a pleasure it was to work with Paws'n'Claws, and how you took every step to ensure Mishka's health and happiness until we could welcome her into our home. Our friends and family always tell us how lucky we are to have such a perfect dog, and they couldn't be more right. Thank you so much for our little girl; she makes our family complete.

Landon and Dana are wonderful. We purchased 2, brother and sister Westies. They have become the lights of our life. Had they not been so well taken care of in the first 8 weeks of their life, they would not be so well adjusted. They are extremely onry and there is never a dull moment. Thank you Landon and Dana for changing our lives. Ken Seals & Linda Buchanan Denver, Co

We picked up our baby Westie on Dec 8. 2007. Zoey came into our lives as a robust 15 week old full of energy Westie. She is fitting into our family so well. Our 13 year old Westie is getting along with her great. They like to chase each other in the snow. Dana & Landon were very nice people who care about what they do. The kennel was very clean and all the dogs seemed very happy. I know we will visit Dana and Landon again when we a ready for another Westie. Thanks Dana & Landon it was so very nice to meet you and find our special Zoey! Betty, Chris, Mattie & Zoey

I just wanted to say how impressed I was with your facility. It was so clean and professional, and all the puppies looked happy and healthy. We picked up our Coton De Tulear puppy (Chewey) at the beginning of this month, and I must say, he is the BEST puppy I personally have ever had. He is so much fun and will wrestle and play, but the moment I want to cuddle him, he just snuggles up in my lap and cuddles right back. He is so sweet. You guys are obviously doing something right. I can tell that your hearts are in this and it isnt just a hobby or something you do on the side. My husband is already saying that he wants to get a Bulldog from you!!! Anyway, thank you so much for the fun and wonderful new addition to our family. HE IS GREAT!

Dana delivered Sadie to us October 30, right on time and even a few minutes early. Already Sadie is a valued member of our family. She has a great temperament and a cuteness that defies description. The French would say, "Elle est une jolie jeune fille!" (She is a pretty young girl.) Also, she has bonded well with our toy poodle and Maltese. Landon and Dana conducted the entire transaction of our obtaining Sadie professionally and cordially. Many thanks to them for a good experience and a wonderful little companion.

I picked up our sweet Pug, Ava, on Friday, September 14th and fell in love immediately. Dana had Ava and her two brothers waiting for us. They were all adorable, I could have taken all three home! The kennel was so clean and welcoming, I couldn't believe how lucky we were to find them. Landon and Dana both were so helpful and professional, it was such a wonderful experience!!!! Thank you so much for adding such a bundle of joy to our life!! A big thanks should go out to dad and mom, Freddie and Frieda, those are some good genes ;) Best~Kari Sanders

We wanted to thank Dana and Landon for the newest addition to our home, little Lucy. We are in love with her, and she is such an easy-going, loving and well-adjusted little pug. Her personality is amazing. We have triplets, and although our household is a busy one, Lucy has jumped right in and has not seemed at all flustered by the activity and noise. Dana and Landon have done such a beautiful job and are true professionals at every level. We were beyond impressed and would never, under any circumstances, consider going to another breeder. Thank you so very, very much. We feel blessed to have little Lucy in our lives.

We brought home our little Mishka, a three month old Coton de Tulear, a few days ago, and we couldn't be happier. She's wonderfully socialized, in perfect health, brave, curious, energetic, cuddly, easy-going and absolutely the cutest thing on the planet. Dana and Landon were always in contact, answered all of our questions, and went above and beyond to work with our schedule in getting our baby from Colorado to New York. I would strongly recommend Richards Kennels to anyone looking for their new puppy; they make the process easy.

July 7, 2007 was a day that many people chose to get married to show their love. The love in our home grew exponentially on 7/7/07 when our two new pug puppies from the Richards Kennels moved in! Our two kids had asked for pug puppies for their birthdays. We had looked for breeders closer to the Denver-Metro area since November 2006 (hoping to have puppies in the summer of 2007), but were not happy with anyone that we had located closer to our home. We found the Richards Kennels online, called and spoke with Dana Richards, and were instantly impressed with her genuine kindness, knowledge, and obvious love of her puppies. Our entire experience could not have been more perfect - our son wanted a black pug, our daughter wanted a fawn pug, and Dana and Landon had a black and fawn litter within a week and a half of each other, allowing us to bring home our new furry kids at the same time. When visiting our puppies at Richards Kennels, we were able to spend time with Landon, Dana and their two boys. They are a wonderful family, and their kennel is amazing. It is immaculate, and has an area set up specifically for puppy visitations (complete with a bathroom which is always a plus with kids following a long drive!). Landon or Dana were always available to answer questions while we were there, or by phone or email when we were home, anxiously awaiting our puppies. Now that our puppies are home, we are even more impressed with the Richards Kennels. They say on their website that they work hard to properly socialize all of their puppies. It is so true! Our little ones are not afraid of noises, they play really well with other dogs, they love kids, and they are incredibly affectionate. This is not possible if the puppies are not handled regularly from a very young age. MANY thanks to the Richards family for all of their efforts - we are so blessed to have two furry kids from your kennel! We are head-over-heels in love with these little ones!

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life we sometimes forget to say Thank You to deserving people. A case in point is Dana, Landon and the rest of the Richards Family who work in the kennels. Based upon Wynston you are certainly helping to make many other peoples lives much happier with the addition of loveable dogs in their lives. THANK YOU and keep up the good work. We got our beautiful westie, Stinker Wilson, in February. Everybody laughs when I tell them his name, but believe me, he is our little stinker and his name from the kennel was Wilson, so why not keep both? We were very lucky to find Dana and Landon's kennel. Dana answered all my questions and was helpful each time I called her. They do a wonderful job getting the puppies used to “humans” and to the environment from an early age. Their puppies are extremely friendly and loving. I patiently waited each week for Dana to post the pictures of the puppies. What a job! I remember trying to get pictures of him when he was a puppy. He never sat still. Stinker is 7 months old now. He is the sweetest, loving, adorable, and most adaptable puppy ever! He loves to be around people, animals, and he loves to explore new places. Tinks has been taking training classes since he was 10 weeks old. Westies are sooo smart! They learn fast and they love it. It also helps to develop the relationship with your puppy. I highly recommend this to whoever gets a westie. Stinker has been to Miami by plane (in the cabin with us), to Charlotte by car (he slept the whole trip) and to St. Louis by plane (cargo area) and he has stayed in more hotels than any other puppy. He just welcomes any new adventure. Please don’t hesitate to contact Dana to get our info if you have any questions.
