Wynston was born in Dec. 2007 and came to us in March of 2008. He continues to be all we could ask for in a Westie. He is a loving and friendly little guy. Every body is his friend. He has been a very healthy dog and we receive compliments all the time about thewhite color a softness of his coat. He is a beautiful dog - everyone says so!! I am constantly being told that he is the whitest Westie they have ever seen and that he has an excellent shape. Often I hear, "He is the best looking Westie ever!" He has a personality to match. Deakon is very loving with kids and adults alike. When it comes to strangers - there aren't any! He enjoys his play time with all different breeds. I'm happy he's in my life and that you did such a great job socializing him. Deakon weighs 20 lbs now and is a finicky eater - was he always like that? What a smart dog!! I trained him to sit, stay, come when called, roll over, beg, lie down, shake, and he plays dead when you pretend to shoot him. Bianca Hernandez Tuesday, September 20, 2011 We brought home our second Coton puppy from the Richards family, Lulu, two weeks ago. She came home happy, well-socialized and in perfect health. From the minute she came home she and her big sister, Mishka, have been the best of friends. Just like Mishka, Lulu is spunky, brave, cuddly, curious, and bright. Everyone agrees she's the most beautiful puppy they've ever seen (though we think she's tied with her big sis). Our family finally feels complete now, and we couldn't be happier that the Richards were able to give us such great companions. Sasha Bass Thursday, February 24, 2011 Thank you for our sweet boy, Lucky (6 mo old Westie)! This was our family's first puppy purchase and it couldn't have have been any more pleasant. One of our biggest concerns was how he and our 10 month old son would get along. We couldn't have asked for a more gentle, sweet, little buddy for our baby. They even share their toys! ;) Our girls adore him and love all the attention he brings when we are out and about. The Franck Family Sunday, February 13, 2011 After 15 years without a pet, we decided the time had come,we are seniors and wanted one for companionship as we wind down an active lifestyle! We got GG (we changed to GiGi) when she was 6 months old. We should have named her "shadow" because she has so attached herself to both of us. She's taken over our hearts and our house. Our livingroom has become her toy room, we picked them up, and she puts them right back where SHE wants them, after a few games of toss and tug of war. She even makes her own bed everyday (we can't begin to compete). She is lovable, protective and rarely barks, even when her neighbors bark constantly! Potty training was simple, she's so smart and seems to understand our words and thoughts! She's made our doctors happy by making us walk everyday! We love our GiGi and we thank the breeders for such a wonderful, loving, and smart puppy. She's always been in perfect health and has the most playful, easygoing disposition anyone could hope for. She even gets stopped on the street by people admiring her! She socializes so well with people and dogs that it's obvious she had a wonderful early upbringing. The Richards family were ideal breeders - so much so that we're hoping they can help us bring home a baby sister to keep Mishka company. The Richards family answered all our questions, and even worked out the logistics of getting Mishka to us in New York. It was daunting to adopt a puppy long-distance, but the Richards family put us entirely at ease and kept in consistent contact with us during the process. We want them to know how grateful we are for the wonderful family member they've gifted us with. Sasha Bass Tuesday, October 19, 2010 Gizmo the Pug Dog became the center of my life in October, 2007 when he was just 10 weeks old. He is the largest pug that anyone I meet has ever seen! At 33.5 lbs he towers over his same-breed companions, but couldn't be known as anything but a "gentle giant." Lovable and loving, playful, handsome, happy and a bundle of personality - I couldn't ask for anything more from a dog! He's friendly to cats, dogs, kids - anyone - and the perfect buddy to have around all the time. He loves everyone and everyone who meets him loves him! Buying him from the Richards was a terrific experience and I would recommend Paws & Claws Kennel to anyone who is looking for a canine companion. Thank you Richards’ family for socializing her so well. She loves people and lets everyone hold her. Thank you Richards’ children for teaching her that kids are fun! "large marge", Pebbles, the Pug, has been a gift to our family since we picked her at at the Richard's farm in 2007 at Thanksgiving. She was only 7 weeks old and I fell in love with her immediately. Took her to my daughter's home for a few days during the Holiday and brought her home on the plane in a tiny little carrier on my lap. Pebbles has grown into a pretty large "marge" pug --- bigger than most pugs -- and is such alot of fun and love. I purchased Lucy right before Christmas and what a present she has been. Lucy has a great personality and outstanding temperament. She must remember her colder weather in Colorado,because when it warms up here in San Diego, as soon as the fridge opens, she jumps in and sits down on the little ledge. My experience with adopting Lucy from the Richards family was very pleasant. They answered my numerous questions and made me feel at ease with putting Lucy on a plane to fly her to her new home. I know I will definitely adopt again from the Richards, they truly care about their puppies and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new 4 legged child. The James Family Sunday, March 15, 2009 We drove from the Boulder area to pick up our fawn pug Spanky in October of 2008. It's hard to believe our little guy is now 6 months old. Everyone complements us on him, noting that he has excellent pug features (lots of wrinkles!). Spanky is a real sweetheart and a very loyal little dog. He adjusted to our family very easily, and slept through the night (in his crate) by his third night in our home without needing to go outside to go potty. After owning 3 dogs that turned out to be ill and that I lost (they were rescues) I was blessed with Bubba. The most wonderful Shi Tzu!!! He is healthy, willing to do what ever is asked and a joy to live with. Everyone I know who have met him adore this little guy. As a somewhat disabled senior I can no longer keep up with the Westies that I love so much and Bubba is the blessing of my life right now.. The Smith Family Tuesday, January 20, 2009 Three years later (I can't believe it's been that long already!) after bringing home our "baby" Westie, Sara, she's just as sweet and as smart as can be. She's now around 16 pounds and is VERY affectionate and playful. She and her Bernese Mountain Dog "sister" Sasha (born 1 month before she was) are inseparable--it's really great to see them get along so well! We've moved from Colorado to Arizona just over a year ago and Sara is really enjoying the warmer weather and trying to get to the bunnies that always seem to be out. If we are ever going to get another Westie in the future we'll be back to Paws and Claws Kennels! I searched the internet for months before I found Paws and Claws in Burlington. After coming to the kennel, I was thrilled to purchase a coton de tulear puppy. Not only was the dog beautiful, I felt comfortable with Dana, Landon and their lovely family. The facilities were clean, well maintained and cared for. My new puppy is a top quality coton, with a fantastic personality to match. As this was my first puppy purchase, I had a lot of questions and concerns after buying my little coton. However, Landon and Dana went out of their way to accomodate my needs and answer my every question. I couldn't recommend the Richard's kennel any more, they are great dog breeders, but most of all they are great people. Thank you Landon and Dana! Renteria family Thursday, December 25, 2008 The pride, care, love and effective socialization techniques Dana and Landon pour into their puppies is invaluable. This is the second time I've adopted a puppy from a breeder and the first time from Paws 'N Claws. The difference is amazing. My last dog was great, but did not adjust to training and socialization nearly as quickly and well as my puppy from Paws "n Claws. In less than a week at home my new Westie, "Neo," knew his name, how to sit, stay, come and became about 80% adapted to potty training. Beyond this, I would credit his loving sweet personality as much to how he was raised in his first few weeks with Dana and Landon as I would to his breed. I couldn't have hoped for a more well adjusted, happy, smart, loving, adorable puppy. If you're considering getting a puppy from a breed that Dana and Landon offer then you shouldn't even consider getting the puppy from any other breeders. He is now 6 months old and perfect, of course! His personality is a “10”. This is truly an amazing breed. The joy he brings to our home is priceless. Dana and Landon were wonderful to work with. They were always available and willing to answer any questions that we had. This was our first time getting a puppy and we had several concerns. After visiting their facility and meeting the puppies and their parents, it was obvious how loving, caring and professional they both were. The kennels were spotless, and their dogs were healthy and treated like family. We just adore our funny, lovable, smart, cuddly little guy. Everywhere we go, Mishka puts a smile on someone’s face. Wednesday, November 19, 2008 We got our "little fat man" from Dana and Landon in March of this year. I had never gotten a puppy from a breeder before, but Dana and Landon were amazing! Landon was always available to answer my questions by phone or by email. Dana sent me pictures of Tango on a weekly basis and I felt as if I was truly able to watch my little man grow until the day we were able to bring him home. We drove out to the kennel with our other pug and were presented with a rolly poly happy 8 week old boy. We even got to meet Daisy and Freddy, Tango's parents. It's been 6 months since we brought Tango home but we feel as if he's been part of our family forever. He's happy, go lucky, and incredibly lovable. I guess we felt our lives weren't crazy enough with 3 children, and a new puppy, that we came back for another one. Lily (another westie) joined our family a couple of weeks ago. She has settled in to her new home as if she's lived here forever. She was sleeping through the night almost immediately, and is doing fabulous with her potty training.
